Using books for focused language stimulation is a popular technique to use with 1-3 year olds. Many parents have reported using this technique successfully at home. Reading books can be a targetted approach to word learning and sets the base for anyone reading to children – including grandparents and carers.
We also frequently use books for speech sound work also. Using books that have frequent productions of the same sound can be another homework activity that is easy and requires no preparation.
We would love to hear from you about books you love or feedback about using any of our recommended books lists!
